50/50 Deep but no Satisfaction

I was leader for a long time but ran AK into AA and got short towards the end. Last hand, All In preflop so I got my money in good but the suckout wasn't meant to be.

Thanks for the Railers.

Did you Miss Me or Just my money?

Well I am not for sure if anyone is still reading but I needed a breather and I feel better about poker than I have in a long time. I think I went through a grieving period after the WSOP. I guess like a postpartum, I built it up so much in my mind that there wasn't anyway I would be satisfied with the outcome until I stepped away and reflected. Strangely enough watching it on TV has made me realize what I accomplished, achieving a goal which was to play in the ME.

So lets catch up.

Still boss less and really enjoying it but now I am wondering why my company is making every effort not promote me. Not to sound ungrateful but if they hire someone else I will more than likely have to look elsewhere because I am at the point in my life where it is time to start making moves with retirement in sight. In order for me to retire with this company I have to promoted to the next level this time in order to get to the SR VP position when it comes open in 5-10 years.

Still suck at bankroll management (online), but I am doing better controlling my inner demons, specifically gambling. When I look at poker from a business perspective I find I have no problem maintaining and growing my BR. When I look at poker as a competitive "Game" I loose control and binge. I cant tell you how many times I have tilted my roll when some donk catches his two outer. I would tilt 4 or 5 buyins just trying to stack any SOB that dares to call my raises just because __________ (you fill in the blank with any excuse you want) Granted if you totally look at poker as a biz I would and have become bored with the game but I have found the challenge in trying to outsmart the game not outsmarting the players.

Live poker has been doing real well, I have won 2 of the last 3 Home Game Tourneys I have played in, had 4 out 5 winning sessions in 1/2 cash rings. The only problem is I just don't have the time and I wont commit that much time away from the family. Granted when I home at night I may have the laptop fired up but at least I am there and I can go in check on the boy if he is yelling out or I can watch BB8 with the Misses.

On side note I want my Banners Dammit!!!!

Until next time keep the demons at bay, play with your head not your heart, but if you are going to play do it with heart.
